Marley is the definitive documentary on the legendary king of reggae from the Academy Award®-winning director of Touching the Void and The Last King of Scotland. Incorporating interviews with Marley's fellow musicians, friends and family - including his wife, Rita - along with concert footage and countless archival pics, Kevin Macdonald tells the story of this charismatic and revolutionary singer-songwriter. He begins with Bob's impoverished childhood in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, and continues through the early years of The Wailers, his shift to Rastafarianism (marked by the growth of those trademark dreads), the gruelling tours, political infighting, love affairs and numerous progeny, to his early death at 36. The soundtrack is, of course, timeless hits like 'Exodus', 'No Woman No Cry', 'Get Up Stand Up' and 'Redemption Song'. And the legacy lives on - three decades after his death Marley has more than 30 million Facebook followers.
