Newcastle Comedy is proud to announce the show 2 for 1. From Thursday 8th through Saturday 10th at 8 pm The Playhouse Theatre will open for a night comprising two completely different comedy shows from local acts Matty B and Brendon Knott. The pair, who have been impressing audiences in festivals and clubs around Australia now join forces to bring to the Playhouse both their solo shows in one night of hilarious entertainment. In what will be a unique experience for the audience their contrasting styles will take you to many opposing edges of the comic bell curve. It's two comedians, two view points and two shows in one.

Emerging comedian Matty B cordially invites you to join him for his debut show, Living In The Real World. There are songs about tree houses, stories about the treacherous nature of walking your dog and imaginings of being reborn as the bastard son of the Prince of a neighbouring kingdom. Matty's humour is surprisingly sharp and his playful, puppy like warmth and wonder endear him to audiences. If you like your colours swirly or your comedy left of centre in fantastical ways then this is a must see show.

'Brilliantly rambling' Timeout

'Manages to perfectly balance high-concept humour with mind bending surrealism.'

Brendon Knott brings his own brand of hilariously clever and acerbic comedy to life in his debut show “Brendon Knott is Knott quite right”. He has been described as “The boy next door… with a demonic twist”, and can bring his intelligent and sometimes dark comedy stylings to a huge range of topics. Having earned a reputation as a brilliant joke writer, Brendon has been delivering big laughs, and plenty of them, to audiences around the country for the past 6 years. He may look like a Dick Smith’s employee, or the kind of guy you’d trust to teach Geography to 16 year olds, but you might be surprised at what lies underneath his straight-laced exterior.
