The mind and the breath are intertwined in action. When the mind is stressed and anxious, the breath becomes shallow and irregular. When the mind is at rest, the breath is slow, deep and reaches the lower lobes of the lungs. This relationship can be managed through a Pranayama (breath/energy control) practice where calm is restored in the mind through the workings of the breath.

In this intensive workshop we will explore fundamental Pranayama techniques, working on breath exercises for cleansing, balancing and relaxation. We will also work on the sacred Pranava AUM mantra using the voice to heal and strengthen our mental and physical selves from the inside out.

This workshop is designed to help alleviate the symptoms of stress and an overly busy mind by increasing focus, creativity and awareness through a peaceful subtle practice. No experience necessary.

Asami is a certified yoga instructor under Australia. She received her certification in India at the International Centre for Yoga Education and Research where she spent 6 months living at Ananda Ashram, and has taught classes in Melbourne, Tokyo and India. She is also a singer/songwriter/gardener.
