Get set for an amazing ride this November when the best roller derby girls on the planet land in Australia for the world’s first Roller Derby Xtreme (RDX), a brand new, banked track elite roller derby series that will have spectators on the edge of their seats.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, 10 September for what is shaping up as THE entertainment spectacular of 2012 when RDX tours the east coast of Australia, taking in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Banked track roller derby hasn’t been seen on Australian soil for almost 30 years, but RDX will mark an explosive return for this incredible action sport, with queens of the banked track LA Derby Dolls taking on the world flat track champs the New York Gotham Girl’s Roller Derby, bringing their fierce rivalry to Australia.

LA Derby Dolls superstars Bombshell Betty, Stefcon 1 and Laguna Beyatch will lace up their skates and take on the likes of New York Gotham Girls’ Suzy Hotrod, Fisti Cuffs and Bonnie Thunders in six arena show, starting at Sydney’s Allphones Arena on 22 November. (See the accompanying RDX 101 for a full list of players)

And as a special bonus for local fans, Australian skaters will be hand-picked to skate with the American teams during the tour, highlighting the fantastic roller derby talent Australia has to offer.

One of the stars of the RDX shows is the track itself. Custom-designed in Australia for this live tour, the track is made from 12 tonnes of reinforced steel, with a steep 35-degree bank. Built in 44 individual sections, the track is transported by road and reassembled at each venue on the tour.

Other RDX highlights will include:

- One of the pioneers of the sport in Australia and RDX commentator, Betty Bamalam, will help identify the best Australian flat track skaters to test their skills to the limit on the banked track;
- Accompanying the visiting teams for an added injection of authenticity will be the number one roller derby commentator in the US as voted by fans, Dumptruck;
- Fans will be updated on every aspect of the game via big screen replays and instant statistics from an expert commentary team;
- RDX has created its very own Touch Pad scoring system specifically designed to simplify the rules for the fans

Do not miss out on the opportunity to be a part of this world sporting first!
