Join IWDA in Adelaide to see The Lady, a film about the life of Burmese democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi. The film tells a poignant story of one of the world's most prominent prisoners of conscience and her ties to her family and nation.

For the first time, IWDA is tying the support from a film night fundraiser to a specific partner initiative. Net proceeds from the night will directly support the Palaung Women's Organisation's Crisis and Resource Centre, which supports women facing trafficking and violence on the Thai Burma border. Read about the Crisis and Resource Centre and PWO on the IWDA website.

The title of the film, The Lady, is the name by which Aung San Suu Kyi is known by the Burmese people who see her as a beacon of courage against the odds, and who risked incurring the wrath of the authorities for publicly uttering her name.

Please join us on April 30th and show your support for PWO and the women who have faced trafficking and violence on the Thai Burma border.
