In the seaside village of Vanimo, Papua New Guinea, the first national surf competition is about to take place. For the surfers of the village, this is a unique opportunity to gain entrance into the national team, and kick-start tourism for the community. But deep-set tribal rivalries and enmity between the sexes start to hinder community progress days before the competition. As the countdown begins, will the competition actually take place? Will the athletes, who dream of change, manage to cast aside their differences? This engrossing film about PNG surf culture is a revelation into how sport can change lives in the most extraordinary ways.
