Returning from an inspiring 3 months of touring and recording across Europe, indie folk duo The Firetree are hitting the road this summer to promote the release of their brand new single, After The World Ends, as well as their debut live album 'Live At The Basement' (MGM/Independent).

Pairing sublime harmonies and contrasting yet complimentary vocals with superb pop song writing, The Firetree are pushing the limits of Australia's multi instrumentalists culture, creating an undeniably unique surf folk sound.

The ever evolving duo perform their live show with acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, loops, percussion, harmonica and a modified drum kit to create lush, full soundscapes that at times rivals some 5 piece bands. Evoking a sense of bohemian charm and casual storytelling, their immersion in the European culture and live music scene has brought a distinctive energy to their new shows.

The past 2 years have seen the pair tour extensively across Australia and internationally to Canada and Europe, as a rapidly growing audience latch onto their addictive tunes. 2012 has seen the independent duo perform a successful 30 date National Summer Tour of Australia with 'The Morning EP' release, before embarking on a European tour in July/August, performing shows in France, England, Germany and Italy as well as recording songs for their upcoming EP in Paris and the south of France.

A strong DIY attitude has proven their resourcefulness and talent, with the pair engineering, editing and producing their recordings as well as their own artwork and film clips. Their single 'Back And Forth' is receiving "lots of love" on national digital radio triple j Unearthed while their three EP releases have been garnering generous airplay on community radio throughout Australia.

The Firetree's debut single 'Sun And Moon' reached number 1 for three weeks on the national AMRAP AirIt Charts. Their sound is also being noticed in the US, placing 2nd in the Best of Pop charts for consistent results on popular US indie music site and MTV partner ourstage.com for 26 weeks in 2011 and again in 2012 placing 2nd in Folk for 16 weeks with the second single from 'The Morning EP', 'Muskets and Tears'.

The Firetree's After The World Ends tour begins this December, seeing them perform 25 shows around the country. Dates and info online at the website above.
