The news that many Australians have long been awaiting is now at hand. The Temper Trap will return home this May to perform headline shows in support of their forthcoming self-titled second album.

The tour will see the band headline BASSINTHEGRASS in Darwin and two nights at both Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE. The tour will be The Temper Trap’s first in Australia since 2010.

The band’s appearances at Vivid LIVE will be their only Sydney performances of the tour. Vivid LIVE is an extraordinary 10-day celebration of contemporary music within the city’s annual Vivid Sydney festival of light, music and ideas and will run from May 25 to June 11. The Temper Trap’s highly anticipated return will be a centrepiece of the festival.

Similarly, the band’s appearance at BASSINTHEGRASS will be their only performance in Darwin. Now in its ninth year, the festival is run by The Northern Territory Government and is one of Darwin’s musical highlights of the year.

The Temper Trap is the follow up to 2009’s critically-acclaimed platinum-selling debut Conditions – a long-standing Top 10 ARIA Album, which has now sold over 800,000 copies worldwide.

With the album release locked in for May 18, fans can expect to hear new material at the shows, including ‘Rabbit Hole’ which is streaming now via the band's website. Offering a sneak peek of the coming album, ‘Rabbit Hole’ has had a stunning impact worldwide since its’ unveiling last Thursday, already clocking up over 165,000 YouTube views. The first official single ‘Need Your Love’ will be revealed on March 27.
