One of Australia’s finest choirs, the St George’s Cathedral Consort will conclude a sensational year of performance’s with a WA Premiere of Monteverdi Vespers - a 90-minute piece that includes some of Australia’s best soloists, choristers and musicians, the performance has both liturgical and extra-liturgical elements.

The applause for this finely tuned choir started with a standing ovation for their first appearance in this year’s concert series at the Perth Concert Hall, and followed with a sell-out event in August.

This extraordinary concert features; world renowned Conductor Joseph Nolan, one of Australia’s most popular and versatile artists Soprano Sara Macliver, accomplished international performer and Limelight Award winner Mezzo Fiona Campbell, Tenor Richard Butler and one of Australia's finest lyric coloratura Tenors Henry Choo, Bass Andrew Foote, The Musicians’ Table led by Paul Wright and of course, the St George’s Cathedral Consort.

A specialist group of musicians from Melbourne will accompany the performers on instruments rarely seen, or rarely played in Perth including; a Theorbo, a Sackbut and Cornets from the Renaissance and Baroque era.

This will be the last chance to see the Choir perform in 2012 and the first time Monteverdi Vespers has been performed in this state with these rare instruments, as it was originally intended.
