With origins steeped in Brisbane's heady artistic mix of tropical heat and DIY attitude, A Man Called Son began in 2006 as the home recording project of Simon J Pearlman. Since the shift to Melbourne, there have been various singles, EPs and two albums, including the latest, 'Midnight Associates', an adventurous yet catchy offering, with bright melodies often masking the seamy side of Australian life in the lyrics. Catch him in this solo appearance.

He will be joined by Pete Carr and Mezz Coleman. Pete has honed in on a distinctive solo style. With his emotive and delicate song structures and finely tuned sense of melody, Peter melds a variety of influences, from early love of The Beatles to Elliott Smith, into a sound all of his own.

With a quirky sense of humour and a voice that can melt the toughest of men into a puddle of tears, eclectic pop songbird Mezz Coleman finds poetry in the mundane, fun in the serious, and depth in the fun. She’ll have you bopping your head to her energetic tunes, singing along to her catchy melodies and you may very well feel a few shiver’s down your spine as she sings one of her heartfelt ballads.
