The Rural Historic Town of Northampton is located 60klms north of Geraldton on the North West Coastal Highway and once again this year the entire town and road through the town will come alive to the sounds of open air performances, music and entertainment, arts, crafts, street stalls, food and drinks and so much more. The main event is of course the Hanging of the Quilts. These are hung both sides of the main road from one end of the town to the other.

There will be a People's Choice award (free entry) with prizes attached and also our visiting town with their beautiful quilts on display and our Competition Quilts where there is $1000.00 worth of monetary prizes to be won.

So if you are a Quilter please contact Kaye on email - kayesimkin@bigpond.com - and she will send out to you all the relevant information that you will require.

This year is the 17th year of this event and is definately one for everyone's calendar. We have every shop in town filled with crafts of some kind and people working at their crafts as well as all halls with displays of many and varied crafts. Definitely something for everyone. Lots of things for sale and many make great Christmas gifts!

At 2.00pm we have a street parade from the bottom to the top of the town culminating at Hampton Gardens where all presentations are made to all our winners and of course our famous raffle of a Queen size quilt, framed oil painting from a local artist, a famed photo also from a local photographer and a voucher as the last prize. Everything is on display and tickets will be able to be purchased in our shops.

There are lots of attractions around town as well - for example; The Friends of the Railway Museum, Gwallia Old Church site, Machinery Shed, and Chiverton House Museum which includes an Art Competition and Exhibition. And, of course, for all your accommodation needs there are three pubs in town plus a dog friendly caravan park and backpacker accommodation in our beautiful St. Mary's Convent.

Just a mere 22klms west of Northampton is our lovely little town of Horrocks right on the Indian Ocean. There is a first rate caravan park with chalets and is dog friendly also a dog beach. Just across the road there are further chalets and of course great fishing.

There is also a General Store with everything that you may need.

If you are heading across to the west or coming up from down south of please mark this date in your diary.
