In these special Anzac Eve and Anzac Day commemorations, the Conservatorium celebrates the anniversary of Britten’s birth with his War Requiem, a work of epic proportions. Composed for two choirs, two orchestras, three soloists and interwoven the words of Latin Mass for the Dead and poems by war poet Wilfred Owen, Britten’s ambitious War Requiem, was hailed as a masterpiece when it first premiered.

Conservatorium Chorus and Orchestra, Young Conservatorium Chorus, staff and soloists, and Brisbane Chorale join forces under conductor Nicholas Braithwaite to undertake this iconic work.
