RIA award-winning Aussie songsmith and band to hit the Top End.

Bob Evans live in Darwin on his national “Familiar Stranger” tour, with special guests Davey Lane (You Am I) and Lincoln Le Fevre (TAS). What an awesome night of Australian live music!

Following last year’s ‘Double Life’ EP acoustic tour and a string of festival shows in January, the always captivating Bob Evans returns with his full live band to announce the national ‘Familiar Stranger’ album tour throughout April and May 2013.

As Mr Evans prepares for the release of his fourth studio record (yes, it’s been four years since ‘Goodnight, Bull Creek’!) on March 15, the upcoming national tour kicks off on April 11 playing the Sunshine Coast Queensland before making its way around the country visiting all states before ending on May 18 in Meeniyan Victoria. The full run of national tour dates are listed below and can be found at the website above.

Joining Bob Evans and his full band on the national run of dates is triple j’s Unearthed band Tigertown as the main support (excluding Cairns and Darwin shows) and Davey Lane as opening act.

Davey Lane: He joined You Am I in 1999 at just eighteen years of age as a second guitarist for the band. Since then he’s definitely left his mark on the Australian music scene, playing with artists such as Crowded House, Jimmy Barnes, Aussie supergroup The Wrights and fronting his own band The Pictures. Lane was nominated for Best Male Guitarist at the Jack Awards, for his work with You Am I.

Lincoln Le Fevre (TAS): Borne out of the freezing waters of the Derwent River, Lincoln le Fevre is one of the best storytellers that you haven’t heard yet. A little bit punk rock, and a little bit country, Lincoln’s voice has a raw power that can still convey the most delicate of stories.

Winner of several Amplified Awards: Best Songwriter, Best Roots/Country, Best Solo Performer (2009), and Best Producer (2008).

“The melodies were engaging and the lyrics were quaint, Linc looked obviously thrilled to be back performing in front of such an enthusiastic crowd as he delivered rich introductions throughout his performance. The sheer potency of Linc’s solo performance stole the night” – The Dwarf Jan 2008 (online music site.
