The Australian Performance Exchange presents the premiere of Caylee’s Ukuele, by Donna Abela.

What song’s in your head right now?

Stay tuned … as a plucky ukulele pulls strings to help a young girl.

Caylee’s always got a song in her head – the perfect song to match the day’s challenges, big or small. The songs are composed just for her by Nanna Mackey who lives in a loft in Caylee’s head. Then one day Nanna’s songs go wrong – a polka for a maths test? A lullaby for a sports carnival? – until, terribly, they just stop.

Who’s in your headspace? When you go for a goal, is it a critical coach, or a cheer squad? When you try a scary ride, does a tearful toddler whisper fear in your ear?

Caylee’s Ukulele is a dynamic show that uses song, music, rhythm and physical comedy to explore how creativity can overcome life’s challenges.

Best of all, children are in on the act, working with performers and contributing riffs, words and gestures in each show.

Every performance is different, interactive and fun!
