That highly creative group of painters, sculptors and assorted genres is at it again with a grand show of artworks for Slow Summer! Housed in the old Railway Barracks located in the fork of the railway lines at East Fork in Orange, the location boasts 15 working artist studios and 2 galleries.

Brainchild of artist, Aida Pottinger, the Barracks was set up in 2011 and throughout 2012, grew quickly from a small group of artists to a membership of over 40 creatives. Of course, during 2012, you really had to be 'in the know' to get invited so there's still room to expand more during 2013.

To help Orange celebrate their festival weeks, this energetic and go ahead group have made a commitment to open their private studio spaces, demonstrate their talents and put their artworks on show but only for 4 weeks of each year! At all other times, you need to contact one of the artists for an appointment to enter the building for these industrious folk like to keep their studios spaces private and quiet so they can contemplate their navel and produce amazing works, most of which head to Canberra or Sydney to be sold.

Curious? Well pop along during the Slow Summer Festival from 21-28 January 2013 between 10am and 4pm daily, and catch some of these talented individuals at work and play!
