Crown Street will come alive with the first ever 28 Black Crown St Crawl. Walk from pub to shop to café to see free bands, DJ’s, poets, burlesque acts, tarot and tea leaf readers, craft workshops and more. Some participating venues will be offering a 28 Black Crown St Crawl Special to help raise money for The Girls & Boys Brigade, whether it be meals or a massage! Think music festival meets city where new and young artists will be featured and it’s your chance to see them first!

Venues include iconic Surry Hills pubs, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and galleries such as The Dolphin, The White Horse Hotel, Dome at The Crown Hotel, The Winery, The Clock Hotel, Yulli’s restaurant, Ampersand on Crown Café Bookstore, Four Ate Five, Bishop Sessa, Paper2, VividShop, Mark Hanham Gallery Watts on Crown, Holy Kitsch, Maloneys Grocer, The Crown Chakra, Peak Health Services, Rainford Street Social, Zushi on Crown, Trinity Bar and Kawa café and many more. Venues will be identifiable by well renowned paper artist, Kitiya Palaskas’ playful decorations outside each venue!

The Khanz will be headlining The 28 Black Crown St Crawl. Other artists include the vivacious Memphis Mae burlesque performer, music acts such as Lyall Maloney, DJ Tigerlilly, Sabriel, The Sculptures, Molly Contogeorge, Hobophonics, Belle and The Bone People, and Marcus Corowa, and many more.

This is a free all day event but you are encouraged to bring a pocket full of gold coins to throw into artist’s busker style collection hats, there will be the odd raffle for some great prizes.

This is a community event and proceeds from The Crown St Crawl will be donated to The Girls & Boys Brigade, a 130 year old local charity on the corner of Riley & Arthur St, Surry Hills. The Girls & Boys Brigade provides a safe place, activities, practical life skills and education support to create a brighter future for local children that need a helping hand.
