The Annual Dandaragan Long Table Lunch began in 2008 in Dandaragan and has been held every year since then. Along with Dandaragan, Jurien Bay and Badgingarra have also hosted the event. This year it is Cervantes’ turn. Guests enjoy a smorgasbord lunch and every guest receives a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival. The glass becomes theirs to keep as a memento. Guests also take home a goodie bag full of samples, vouchers and literature.

There are random raffles every half hour and over 100 silent auction items with something to appeal to every taste. The generosity of the events sponsors is evident in the high number and quality of the auction and raffle items. The luncheon is a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care WA with all profits from this day assisting people specifically in country areas, throughout their breast cancer journey. Breast Cancer Care WA is a charity that provides personalised emotional, practical and financial support and care to Western Australians affected by breast cancer. This includes carers and family who have their own challenges and needs through the experience. Their range of services is designed to alleviate some of the stresses that may be faced after diagnosis, during treatment and in the long term.

Receiving no government funding, Breast Cancer Care WA relies on the generosity of the WA community in order to provide its range of services at no charge. Breast Cancer Care WA have a long list of patients that unfortunately grows on a daily basis – as 1 in 9 Australians will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime.
