Desert Sessions is back, now in it's 4th year. An annual event dedicated to all things stoner rock, this time held back where it all started, the iconic Annandale Hotel. A group of like minded musicians pay homage to one of their favourite musical genres playing songs by Kyuss, Black Sabbath, Monster Magnet, QOTSA and much more. The first show was christened back in 2010 by Nick Oliveri jumping up on stage and closing the show singing "Green machine" with the band before stage diving off into a truly stoked crowd. Since then the word has spread and every year the support and enthusiasm for the show has blossomed.

The bands resume includes members who have played in Bob Sledge, Christ Art Museum, Magnus, Wolfgang, Tongues, Lime, Lovebucket and Guilding The Lily. This years event sees event manager Martin Carr (Rizz Records) pushing the boundaries to make this a spectacular night. The cast of singers is dazzling and includes Jeremy Davidson (Snowdroppers), Michele Madden (Tourettes, Saint Cecilia), Caroline Miller (Lovebucket), Scott James Smith (Bob Sledge), Anthony Von Grimm (Yanomamo), Nick Swainson (Wolfgang), Grant Byrnes (Magnus, Ivie) and Joe Breen with more special guests to be announced. The nights proceedings will be opened by two great local stoner bands Arrowhead and Looking Glass (ACT).

Von Grimm Records will have a record stall at the show with a fantastic selection of brand spanking new vinyl LP's covering all things stoner, sludge and doom rock. In conjunction with this we also celebrate Burnie Malletin's (Malletin production's) 10 year anniversary as live recording engineer and lighting, stemming largely out of the legendary Annandale Hotel. Burnie has supplied great light shows for us since day one and is planning an over the top visual orgasm to match the aural pleasures to be had on the night.

This year will also see the launch of the house bands new recording project 38 Sports and their debut single. In fact the first 100 people to buy a ticket to the show will receive a free download!! Simply purchase your ticket online via Oztix and wait for your response from Rizz Records to secure the new tune.
