Proudly supported by the City of Melbourne, Docklands will farewell summer with an extraordinary free event for the entire family!

Marvel at the amazing sand sculptures made using over 20 tonnes of sand! Throw in a fishing line and learn how to fish and care for the waterways with local experts and for the big kids at heart, experience ‘Dig Docklands’ where you can dig amongst the huge pile of sand with a great variety of prizes to be found.

On Harbour Esplanade, waterside of Etihad Stadium, artists will commence to build giant sand sculptures on the 12th of February. The sculptures will come alive and be on display for a week from 11 am on Saturday 16th of February.

The first weekend will host lots of children’s activities! Come to Harbour Esplanade between 11 am and 3 pm 16-17 February for a great day out with the whole family!

Face painting, come try fishing and have fun next to the sand sculptures!

The Farewell to Summer week will culminate in a unique digging event! From 11 am to 3 pm on February 23rd the public will get the chance to go digging after great prizes in the sand on Harbour Esplanade.
