Felton is gearing up for another jam-packed Felton Food Festival on Sunday 14 April 2013. The Felton community is looking forward to celebrating the region’s vitality and productivity, alongside our two favourite celebrities, Alastair McLeod and Costa Georgiadis. Alastair and Costa are excited to be sharing their wealth of knowledge on all things food and gardening and Costa is determined to take out Alastair in the “Celebrity Cook Off”! The Felton Food Festival community has been working hard to improve the festival over the last twelve months and cannot wait to share a wonderful day with you.

The Felton Food Festival started in 2012 and went off with a bang! The Felton community was amazed at the support they received for their first Felton Food Festival and cannot wait to share another wonderful day with all attendees. This year the Felton Food Festival has made a few changes to make the festival even better than before with more local produce for sale, more food stalls and more shaded seating areas. In 2013 the Felton community will be asking attendees for a gold coin donation on entry to the festival.

Felton is situated just 30km south-west of Toowoomba and is a picturesque part of the Darling Downs. Felton boasts magnificent scenery, clean air, rich fertile black soils and a climate which enables them to grow food crops all year round; not to mention the terrific community spirit! Felton produces a wide variety of crops including wheat, barley, chickpeas, mungbeans, sunflowers, lettuce, cabbage, beetroot, celery and onions. It is also home to significant production of beef, lamb, pork, poultry, dairy and eggs.

The Felton Food Festival will be a wonderful event for the whole family. Celebrity chef Alastair McLeod is looking forward to coming out and sharing his food secrets, alongside celebrity gardener Costa Georgiadis from ABC’s Gardening Australia. Alastair and Costa will once again be going head to head on the day in the “Celebrity Cook Off”. They’ll be using Felton’s finest local produce, while sharing their wealth of knowledge on food from paddock (or garden) to plate. Costa will also be sharing his infectious passion for growing food in the home garden and will be giving demonstrations on 'no dig' gardening.
