Celebrate the power of the human spirit as London bombings survivor, Gill Hicks, shares her inspirational journey from survival to a new life.

Presented by Canberra Theatre Centre at Parliament House, this moving talk recounts Gill’s experience of the brilliance of humanity, following 7 July 2005 when a detonated bomb stripped her of life as she knew it.

With no identity, Gill was chillingly labelled as ‘One Unknown, estimated female’. It was upon reading that label months later that Gill realised people had risked their own lives to save hers, regardless of the colour of her skin, her religion, whether she was rich or poor, male or female.

One Unknown: Experiencing the Brilliance of Humanity draws inspiration from the selfless actions of Gill’s rescuers, who shaped the person she is today.

“In facing my own death, I have learnt about life” – Gill Hicks
