Holy Week at St Peter’s Cathedral is full of spiritual and musical events for everyone. This year the Cathedral continues its collaboration with the Elder Conservatorium of Music to present the Holy Week Meditative Series – musicians from the Conservatorium working together with the Cathedral's Musical and Liturgical teams to create a space for quiet reflection each day.

Certaine Notes, the chamber choir of St Peter’s Cathedral, will sing in the deeply moving service of Tenebrae on Wednesday evening. Tenebrae means ‘darkness’ in Latin, and the service includes the gradual extinguishing of candles accompanied by a series of psalms and canticles set by Renaissance composers. By the end of the service, the Cathedral is in complete darkness; then a single candle is relit to represent the hope of the prophecy of Easter.
