This Seniors Week (17- 24 March 2013) start planning that holiday you’ve always dreamed about. NSW Trustee & Guardian is holding a free travel workshop for seniors on Friday 22 March 2013 with guest speakers including Sydney Weekender host Mike Whitney, senior lecturer of tourism at UTS Dr David Beirman, and Seniors Week 2013 ambassador Noni Gove, a co-founder of the Bondi Beach Laughter Club who has travelled to nearly 65 countries since she turned 50.

The workshop will provide useful advice for seniors looking to venture far and wide, including tips on places to visit, guidance on how to stay safe on your holiday and advice on how to make the most of your next trip. The presenters will also share stories from their own travel adventures – good, bad and funny.

With more than seven million Australians travelling overseas every year, NSW Trustee & Guardian is reminding older Australians that before they take off on holiday, it is important to have an up to date Will, as well as a Power of Attorney in place to look after your legal and financial affairs while you are away for extended periods. This can include signing legal documents, payment of bills and other day-to-day financial responsibilities like collection of rent. To find out more about the workshop or information on how you can make or update your Will or prepare a Power of Attorney visit the Make Your Will website www.makeyourwill.com.au
