The John Montesante Quintet (or JMQ) is a stylish, horn-led combo formed in 1990, with a penchant for bebop and taking standards to another level. The band has gained respect in the Melbourne jazz scene because of its quality musicianship, versatility, entertainment value and ability to perform with any outstanding local or international artist.

The band returns to Dizzy’s tonight with John Montesante on Trumpet and Flugelhorn, a fine rhythm section: Scott Lambie – Drums, Dean Addison – Double bass, Craig Schneider – Piano, and one of Melbourne’s iconic singers, Bobby Valentine.

For decades Bobby Valentine has been the ‘go-to’ talent if you want your major event, private function, or quality venue to be entertaining and enjoyable, or if you need a class act at your A-List party or TV show. With influences like Sinatra, Count Basie, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Australia’s own Ricky May, among others, and having worked in all combos from soloist, singer-songwriter to fronting a 20 piece band, he brings a lifetime of song to the stage. A large presence, with a wealth of experience and a wide jazz and big band repertoire, Bobby returns to Dizzy’s with the JMQ for a special evening.

Come along and enjoy the vibe!
