Where: Rad Bar, 95a Crown Street, Wollongong

Julia and the Deep Sea Sirens mix traditional folk instruments with pop sensibilities and an alt country twang. Julia has been compared to Joni Mitchell in a musical sense, and Joan Rivers because of her sharp wit. Their second album, Family Pets has been receiving national airplay on the ABC, Triple J and community stations nation-wide since it’s release, and the band have spent the past twelve months playing to packed festival tents in Canberra and interstate. They use guitars, harmonies, cello, autoharp, banjo, drums and a $10 Casio keyboard from Salvos in Canberra to tell you tales about relationships (frustrating ones mainly) and train-wrecks and even ponies.
