Inoke "Knox" Kalounisigais a idolised in his homeland as the Fijian Jack Johnson. Knox is notorious for his guitar skills, amazing raw vocals, and live performances. Currently undergoing a tour of Australia's east Coast, Knox will perform at Dome Bar, Surry Hills, joined by his trio as well as seven of Sydney's best unsigned solo artists, each performing two original songs. With his roots in laid-back contemporary reggae, Knox has evolved his sound into a soulful blues with a twist of folk and serves up his debut single Candy in 2013. Influenced by Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman and The Police amongst many others, Knox has always loved music and playing instruments. Knox speaks of his craft, “Music is a religion, it is a way of life for those who wield it in their hands and live and die for it. As time goes by… as I discover the valleys, mountains, rivers, caves, the nooks and crannies of a musical and spiritual journey through the labrinths in my mind, I find that the experience unravelling on the road in front of me is something that I have mapped out for myself years ago as a teenager with a dream… the dream to be different in order to make a difference.”
