Kristen Lane and Band

With the release of her new EP Loving & Free, co-written with THE Garth Porter (Lee Kernaghan, Sara Storer, etc), Kristen Lane is preparing for a big 2013 and beyond. Released in Dec 2012, Loving & Free is inspired by the richness of the Hunter region, which Kristen calls home. There is no better example of this than the first single from the EP ‘On the Esplanade’, a joyous reflection of all the features Kristen loves most about her hometown the Esplanade, the break-wall, Stockton, the ferry, Bar Petite, the beaches, and the buzz of people enjoying the Steel City's summer pleasures.

In 2010 Kristen released her first single “Day in the Hay” to critical acclaim. The video (directed by Ross Wood), received widespread praise and high rotation on the Country Music Channel (CMC). It’s also a crowd favourite at Kristen’s gigs!

Born in the small town of Kurri Kurri NSW, Kristen has been singing since she was 5 years old, from singing in her father’s band at age 11, to playing to packed houses in every corner of the state as one half of “The Lanesbury Sisters” (with sister Amanda), to earning a place as a finalist in the prestigious Toyota Star-Maker competition in 2012. Kristen has certainly “paid her dues”.

Kristen’s unique talent has been recognised by her peers, leading to invitations to share the stage with the likes of Adam Harvey, Felicity Urquhart, The Flood, Wendy Matthews and many others.

With her own band now in place, Kristen has been on the road promoting her music and her brand to an ever-growing fan base. With scores of gigs now under their belt, including showcase performances (ABC live to air, Newcastle Foreshore, Reg Lindsay benefit, and a high profile EP launch), Kristen and her band are looking forward to busy and bright 2013, playing to audiences around the country.
