Melbourne Chamber Orchestra’s exploration of Beethoven’s orchestral works continues with their second concert of the year, coupling the dramatic Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus with the sunny and joyous Symphony No.4; a favourite work for many Beethoven lovers.

Written in the lyrical, quasi-pastoral style that has become one of the signatures of his music, British composer Douglas Weiland's Clarinet Concerto – premiered by MCO with Sir Neville and Andrew Marriner in 2009 – stands as a magnificent successor to the clarinet concertos of Mozart and Nielsen.

Beethoven the Creatures of Prometheus: Overture
