In the count down to the NGV’s landmark Melbourne Now exhibition, experiential culinary concepts provider, Rowland by Shane Delia are holding the perfect entrée - Melbourne’s Most Liveable Lunch.
Curated by chef Shane Delia, Melbourne’s Most Liveable Lunch will showcase an iconic, Melburnian culinary experience at the NGV’s Persimmon restaurant. Seven of Melbourne’s most creative chefs have been gathered to create a tantalising five-course degustation lunch to display to guests why Melbourne has been voted the most liveable city in the world.
The culinary creatives joining Delia to dish up Melbourne’s Most Liveable Lunch will include Scott Pickett (Saint Crispin), Darren Purchese (Burch & Purchese), Benjamin Cooper (Chin Chin), Sean Donovan (The Station Hotel) and World Barista Champion Matthew Perger (St Ali), with two further chefs to be announced closer to the date.
Over two weeks they will present two dynamic five-course menus designed to evoke memories and feelings of what it’s like to live in or visit Melbourne. Each chef will present one dish, inspired by Melbourne icons such as “street art & laneways”, “luna park”, “basement hideaways”, the iconic South Melbourne Markets Dim Sim and more.
The first 5 course menu ($120 per person) will run from 11-16 November with sittings at 11am and 1:30pm. The second 5 course menu will be available from 17-22 November with sittings at 11am and 1:30pm. A “business trip” 2 course offering will allow guests to select which two dishes from the menu for $55 per person with sittings at 11am, 12:30pm and 2pm. NGV Members can receive 20% off the 5 course menu on Tuesdays.
Bookings for Melbourne’s Most Liveable Lunch can be made via Persimmon on 03 8620 2434 or via the NGV website. To find out who the mystery chefs will be follow the Rowland by Shane Delia Facebook page.
