Scottish Band, Modhan are in Australia and playing their only Sydney show at Modern Folk Gigs next Saturday in Surry Hills at the Gaelic Club. Along side with Candice McLeod, this is one gig not to be missed. Doors open at 7.30 and tickets are $15 to $20. Modern Folk Gigs is a new and upcoming music venue. Cosy and full of friends old and new, that will enchant and delight you with young, contemporary, fresh, exciting and even just plain lovely folk music.

The Scottish band Modhan is in Australia for the first time. Their music is boldly infectious. With a sound born from a synthesis of jazz, folk, rock and funk. Modhan mould fresh grooves and sophisticated melodies, while upholding a respect for their Scottish roots. The result is a contemporary sound, upbeat and refreshingly original.

Candice McLeod, Australian singer-songwriter, has been playing piano from the age of 3. She later branched out to guitar and soon found herself singing and writing her own songs. Her songs tell tales of life brimming with triumphant choruses that you’ll be humming for days after. She has also been featured on Triple J Unearthed.
