Catherine Fox is the former Deputy Editor of the Australian Financial Review Boss Magazine and the author of recently published 7 Myths About Women and Work. Her book examines the harmful assumptions made about women in the workplace and why dismantling these ideas will help forge a better workplace for us all.

Her message is for both men and women, from all levels on the management ladder, interested in fairness, productivity and the fascinating psychology of organisational life.

Catherine is one of Australia's most sought after speakers and in this breakfast presentation for AIM, she will dispel the main myths: that we work in meritocracies; that the gender pay gap is exaggerated; that women lack ambition; that women should act more like men; that quotas/targets are a bad idea; that there are not enough women and that time will heal all.

She will systematically address these myths, with the same vigour and clarity that readers of her column 'Corporate Woman' in the Australian Financial Review, have come to admire.

Those attending will acquire a way of looking at workplace dynamics that doesn't paint women as victims or men as enemies but shows how traditional workplace practices and attitudes keep us from doing our best and having more successful and satisfying working lives.
