Pastry with Chris Thé from Black Star Pastry Part 1

Chris Thé is renowned in Sydney and beyond for his amazing pastry. At Real Food we know this well because our shop is dangerously close to his shop - Black Star Pastry on Australia St in Newtown.

In the first part of this two part course, Chris will take you through the basics of making pastry.

He will cover:
- Where he learnt pastry
- What is pastry: ie the bringing together of 2 different substances
- Secret to success
- The amazing 4-3-2-1 pastry
- How to wield a rolling pin
- Flouring the bench
- Working the dough
- Visual cues for success
- Resting the dough: Know when to rest, and when dough is ready to proceed.

You'll get up close and personal with some flour and butter, make your own dough and roll it out. The rustic apple tart you get to take home and bake in your own oven and eat for dessert that night.

This is a hands on class with only 12 participants. In other words, this is going to be special.
