Brisbane music fans will be treated next week to some rollicking good fun with 2013 Golden Guitar winner Pete Denahy and Star Maker Finalist Seleen McAlister. Pithy and witty, Pete’s comedic interactions with audiences is making him - well almost as famous as his guitar and fiddle playing.
The first in a year-long series of concerts from Redlands Modern Country Music Club, Pete and Seleen step up on the stage from 7.30pm on Saturday, 16 March at the Redlands site.

Denahy won the Instrumental category at this year’s Country Music Association of Australia Golden Guitar Awards for Yackandandah 1852 from his bluegrass album Wishbone Road. Juggling a career of comedy and bluegrass music, he cut his teeth with one of the best, playing fiddle on the Slim Dusty Show.

“In 23 years of playing in Tamworth, I have to say: this year was the best yet!” Denahy chuckled.
“The Redlands Show will be a little comedy, a little bluegrass and a whole lot of fun – I can’t wait.”
Denahy is joined by Maton Guitar Talent Winner and 2013 Toyota Star Maker Finalist, Seleen McAlister who has a strong following in Brisbane and surrounds for a powerhouse voice and rocking shows.

Launching the first single of her upcoming album in May, McAlister will follow on from her well-received debut EP Worth the Wait. “This album is so exciting, I’ve co-written songs for it with Drew McAlister from McAlister/Kemp, Mike Carr, CMC nominated artist Doug Bruce and have been given a song by the amazing Don Schiltz who wrote The Gambler,” she said.

The evening will kick off with Redlands Modern Country Music Club member Juliann Lynch followed by Seleen McAlister and then Pete Denahy.

Tickets are limited. A bar will be operating throughout the event.
