In the not-so-distant future when robots start thinking for themselves, they decree that planet earth will not survive unless humans are destroyed. So they execute most of humanity and send the rest to slavery in underground mines.

But when Executive Bot writes a play, Giles, a human director, is sent up from the mines in the hope that robots will be able to calculate the formula of art. But because Executive Bot can’t feel, he can’t enjoy art. So he makes a deal with Giles: if Giles is capable of putting on a play that can make robots feel, Executive Bot will let him live; if he can’t, he will be executed in front of his cast.

Following a critically acclaimed debut at Melbourne’s La Mama Theatre and an encore season at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Travis Cotton’s weird and wired comedy makes its Sydney debut with Tamarama Rock Surfers.

“…A slick and entertaining comedy of ideas, carried by Cotton’s inventive world-creation, offbeat humour, and super-sharp comic acting from a talented cast.” - Sydney Morning Herald

“A gem of a production. Funny, smart, surprising and beautifully executed…Not to be missed.” - ½ Arts Hub

Writer and Director: Travis Cotton
With Daniel Fredriksen, Simon Maiden, Natasha Jacobs and Paul Goddard
