At the 2012 Adelaide Fringe, the Mens Ensemble of No Strings Attached Theatre company won multiple awards for their new show SONS & mothers. For over 18 months award winning film director Christopher Houghton watched the Men’s Ensemble embark on the creative process that created this multi-award winning show.

SONS & mothers the documentary gives unique access to what happened behind closed doors to make this remarkable piece of theatre from the seed of an idea to a fully realised play. Immediately observing the troupe from the first day of rehearsal to opening night SONS & mothers encourages audiences to leave their views of disability at the door and instead, through the eyes of the Men’s Ensemble, experience what it is like to be simply human.
