The best of the Sydney Film Festival (SFF) hits the motorway and heads west, armed with a truckload of hits, highlights and new releases that you'd never usually get to see at your local cinema. Enjoy SFF 2012 favourites, screening in the gorgeous surrounds of the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre from 8 - 10 March 2013.

In this inaugural year SFF presents five features and three shorts from six countries taking local audiences on a cinematic journey around the world. The SFF @ Casula 2013 program includes prerelease titles and international Sydney Film Festival (SFF) selections – be the first to see these exclusive titles at Casula Powerhouse.

Opening Night will feature the winner of Cannes Film Festival Jury prize, The Angels’ Share. This charming film by the great Ken Loach is well-loved by audiences and critics alike; a bittersweet comedy about redemption, kilts and whisky. It’s a heart-warming tale of a group of former criminals who turn
to drink and ironically change their lives. Opening Night also screens the short film Julian, a Dendy Awards Finalist at SFF 2012.

Also part of the program is a short film program and workshop curated by Blackfella Films. For many years, Indigenous films have travelled around Australia under the Message Sticks Indigenous Film Festival banner. This year Blackfella Films have partnered with the Sydney Travelling Film Festival to bring to Casula Powerhouse the very best of Indigenous films from Australia and around the world,
delivering a program of Indigenous short films and a FREE workshop with one of the most promising emerging Indigenous filmmakers. Program and guest TBA.

Movie and meal options available for the 7PM sessions. More TBA soon!

The Festival features an impressive line-up of critically-acclaimed films including:

Love is all you need - Oscar-winning director Susanne Bier (In a Better World) takes Pierce Brosnan out
of Hollywood to fall in love with Trine Dyrholm in Italy, in this surprising, warm, humorous and life
affirming rom-com.

Six foot five, 16 years old and pegged a leader (perhaps even a future NZ prime minister) since birth, Ngaa Rauuira Pumanawawhiti is a name to watch out for!
Screens with short film Snow in Paradise - Blackfella Films Presents and SFF 2012 selection.

First Position - PRE-RELEASE TITLE
