Teleprompter are back in action and with a new single on the way they are playing their first gig in a long time at Trainspotters. Joined by Adelaide's Sincerely, Grizzly and locals Surfin Bird.

Teleprompter are a band from Brisbane, Australia. Formed in 2006, the band has been gigging locally and nationally since 2008 and have gained a reputation for their energetic and eccentric live shows.

Taking direction from the dancier side of post-punk, Teleprompter have grown into their own unique sound. Recently, they have recorded their debut EP with Yama Indra of Gloves/Damn Arms fame, which was released in April 2011. The band's prior single, Boxcutter, has been well received by critics and has garnered a fair amount of play on Triple J since Teleprompter became a featured artist on Unearthed. Since their inception, the band has shared stages with a number of well known international acts, touring with the Big Day Out festival in 2010, and also playing spots at the Parklife and Good Vibrations festivals.

Described by Faster Louder as "a danceable and charismatic treat", Teleprompter have been building a large fan base not only in their home town of Brisbane, but to audiences both nationally and internationally.

It’s been a massive start to the year for Sincerely, Grizzly, who having already played the Big Day Out and Laneway Festivals, have a string of massive supports coming up with Presidents Of The USA, Birds Of Tokyo and Bob Mould. This all comes after a big finish to 2012 which saw the band play Big Sound, tour nationally with The Medics and release their debut EP Doom And Gloom.
