Screenplay by Stefan Taylor, directed by Helen Macfarlane featuring Matt Werkmeister, Brett Swain, Carla Bonner, Laura Pike, Josiah Lulham and Peter Glennon.

“The whispers shall be heard…”

A year after the sudden death of his mother, William Marth returns to his family’s old isolated country home, to reunite with his estranged and reclusive father, Thomas. Despite their isolated location, father and son soon realise they are not alone. Something has awoken in the old hills that surround their home, something ancient and sinister. Together they must confront the pain of their past and work together to discover what it is that lurks in the shadows out side the house, and how, if at all, they can stop it…

Hosted by Fat Kid Films in partnership with Fly-On-The-Wall Theatre and Chapel Off Chapel, Sunday Scriptease is an exciting initiative for Australian screenwriters to road test their stories, expose the industry to some stunning new talent and provide and demystify the art of screenwriting to the public. Comprising of four Sunday's, Sunday Scriptease lifts the lid on the first essential part of the filmmaking process and brings the script right into the audience's lap. Featuring four unproduced scripts staged by a selected group of experienced directors and featuring some of Melbourne's finest acting talent, Sunday Scriptease gives audiences and writers alike, the rare opportunity to witness the development of tomorrows films, provide feedback, examine the process and discover the next generation of Australian cinematic voices.

Note: Some scenes may be filmed and projected live as part of the reading.
