Perth based Silvery Gibbon Project will be in full swing on Saturday October 26th to raise funds for endangered species of Gibbon.

Like so many of our Australian species, these gibbons are facing extinction due to habitat destruction and other human induced factors. With so many causes needing help it can often be difficult to get people involved with these less well known and glamorous species, even though it is often these species that are in greater need of our help.

“The Silvery Gibbon Project is excited to showcase the talents of local and international artists. Every year we are amazed at the art on offer and really appreciate the artists support. The gibbons need the publics support to make the event a success. Attend for a relaxed evening of Credaro wines, canapés and amazing art and support us in our mission to assist the conservation of gibbons.”

Artists who have generously donated their work include: Gwen Velge, Sue Codee, Lisa Roet, Fiona Anderson, Steve Morvell, Wendy Binks, Alex Cearns, Robin Wingrave, Permai the elephant and more. There will be a range of artworks on sale including sculptures, jewellery, original acrylic and charcoal drawings, photographs and a number of limited edition prints. The auction has a strong conservation theme with pieces featuring Australian and exotic wildlife and landscapes. With such a wide variety of styles and subjects there is sure to be something for everyone!

“The Art Auction is a great opportunity for our supporters to take home a beautiful reminder of their own contribution to the conservation of gibbons, and at a great price!”

Viewing starts at 4:30pm and the auction begins at 6:30pm. Entry includes a complimentary drink and canapés, with 100% of funds raised going directly to help gibbons.

The Silvery Gibbon Project is run entirely by volunteers, with 100% of our funds raised going towards the conservation of this endangered species. As well as being the primary supporter of the Javan Gibbon Centre, SGP also support education and capacity building programs in Java.
