The Whiskey Archive and The Shiralee come to JamJar for another Sunday session of Toned Down Acoustics!

A new collaboration from folksinger Jared Spurr and Sarah Kanake in the vein of Johnny Cash and June Carter. As a collaboration in storytelling, The Shiralee springs up somewhere between Jared’s wild Tasmanian backcountry and Sarah’s whispering coastline.

Then from 6-8pm get a double shot of thewhiskeyarchive! thewhiskeyarchive has emerged quietly over the last eighteen months with a string of successful shows at some of Brisbane’s best known and loved venues – including their debut EP launch at the Old Museum in August. Drawing on influences as varied as Radiohead, REM, The Dirty Three, The Cure, Townes Van Zandt, Justin Townes Earle, Portishead, The Saints and Paul Kelly, thewhiskeyarchive is set to intrigue the uninitiated - tantalising with a bluesy flavour, teasing with a hint of alt-country, tipping their hat to the punk and goth influences from Brisbane’s music scene of the 70s and 80s and all with sweet, poignant harmonies that shiver up your spine.
