An amazing 7 years young girl, Michelle, performs a solo piano recital with an all-Debussy-repertoire that consists no less than The Children’s Corner, Deux Arabesques and the complete Suite Bergamasque. Also, she will perform a composition of Jaya Suprana (an Indonesian celebrity pianist and composer). This magical young girl is not only able to play but also to interpret these great musical compositions because she really understands the meaning and the soul of each composition. It is surprising how Michelle understands that The Children’s Corner is not just a collection of music compositions for children, but it is all about an adult’s (Debussy’s) impression of the beautiful moments of the childhood of Chouchou, Debussy’s beloved 3 years young daughter. And it is further amazing how young Michelle is able to interpret the mystery of the sophisticated pre-impressionistic meaning of Suite Bergamasque with such a fully developed musical and pianistic prowess.
