After the success of last year’s inaugural exhibition, Melbourne’s GPO will once again join forces with The Jacky Winter Group to host ‘True Self’– a charity exhibition that links fashion, fine art and photography.

You can expect an exhibition of 10 large-scale fine art photographs by 20 of Australia’s most cutting-edge and contemporary creatives, including visual artists Beci Orpin, Tin&Ed, Kate Tucker, and photographers Derek Henderson, Sean Fennessy and Jesse Marlow just to name a few.

The exhibition utilises the core element of collaboration, with visual artists creating works that are then captured ‘in camera’ by a photographer. The result will be 10 unique pieces of fine art photography, each drawing upon the themes of positive self-image.

The 10 bespoke-framed, large-scale, collaborative works will be sold via silent auction throughout the duration of the exhibition. Guests will also have the opportunity to buy each of the artworks in the exhibition as limited-edition A3 fine-art prints and A6 postcard packs, to be sold for a fixed price in the gallery.

All sales will directly benefit Fitted for Work, a not-for-profit organisation that helps women experiencing disadvantage, dress the part for job interviews and gain the skills and confidence to find work. Fitted for Work has helped over 12,000 women to date through its personal outfitting services and through its range of transition to work mentoring programs. The theme of this year’s exhibit well and truly highlights the heart of its vision - independence and transformation for women.
