To celebrate the start of the truffle season, Secret Foodies and Pepe Saya Butter are hosting a delicious evening at Kitchen By Mike and you?re invited. Explore the mysterious truffle; it's origins and versatility with Duncan Garvey of Perigord Truffles of Tasmania and other suppliers.

Ticket includes hand made truffle butter from Pepe Saya with homemade bread, a savoury dish from Mike and dessert from Homemade Fine Food.

Complimentary Mudgee Wines from Lowe Wines will be served during the evening.

Style: This is a stand up, cocktail style event where guests are invited to interact with each supplier station. We will also be holding Q&As with the suppliers and Mike, hearing about their experience with truffles.

The following suppliers are involved:

Duncan Garvey of Perigord truffles of Tasmania:
Duncan produces and markets Black Truffles from the cold soils of Tasmania, NSW and Victoria. This is unique opportunity to join the pioneer truffle grower of Australia and discuss the seduction of the black diamonds he harvests. Duncan will also have his truffles on display for sniffing and tasting.

Pierre Issa of Pepe Saya:
Pepe will be showing you how he makes Truffle Butter served with fresh bread from Kitchen By Mike

John Fairley of Country Valley Dairy:
The Fairley family has been living in the valley (Picton NSW) for over 50 years, farming everything from peas to cattle. The dairy itself was opened in 1958 and has been working continuously every since. From milk to yoghurt pasteurising at minimum temperature, John shows us cream separating from milk and how he makes award-winning produce.

Merna Taouk of Dessertmakers:
Homemade Fine Foods makes delicious puddings and crumbles for the retail sector and Qantas Airlines. Founder, Merna will demonstrate the versatility of truffles by using them in desserts.

David Lowe of Lowe wines (Mudgee):
David Lowe is the owner and chief winemaker of Lowe Wines, a certified organic and biodynamic winery in Mudgee. During a 35-year career as a winemaker he has been at the forefront of many industry innovations, including the production of quality preservative free and lower alcohol wines.
