Seminal Aussie fuzz rock giants Tumbleweed are back with their eagerly awaited new album Sounds From The Other Side – set for release via Shock Records on Friday September 27, 2013.

Twelve long days at Sydney’s Rancom Studio resulted in 13 songs oozing with heavy grooves, gigantic riffs and juicy analogue flavours – and Sounds From The Other Side was born.

Recorded to two inch tape with the aid of acclaimed ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher, Sounds From The Other Side marks the first time in over 15 years the original line up have recorded together. McKercher was instrumental in defining the band’s sound on the 1995 LP Galactaphonic and legendary single ‘Daddy Long Legs’.

The album was mixed over a 12 day period at the Central Coast’s idyllic Grove Studios in between recording and bushwalking. Sounds From The Other Side includes songs that have been kicking around since the old days and fresh tracks written after the band’s 2009 reunion. First single ‘Mountain’ is a fitting introduction to the album – a seven minute epic with that quintessential Tumbleweed sound, available via iTunes Monday July 29, 2013.

Forming in the early 90s, Tumbleweed dominated the Australian music landscape. With a string of EPs attracting international attention, it was a fairytale beginning for the band - including signing with Atlantic Records USA for their debut album release, international tours with Mudhoney and The Lemonheads, a subsequent four LP releases and extensive Australian tours – including an infamous 1992 support slot for Nirvana’s only Australian tour.

After the original line up disbanded in 1995 the chances of a reunion seemed slim, however Tumbleweed returned from the grave for a very special performance at 2009’s Homebake. Invitations to play Big Day Out (Sydney and Melbourne) and the Meredith Music Festival soon followed.

The new album’s release follows a string of East Coast tour dates.

It’s been a long time coming, but now Tumbleweed are well and truly back - bringing with them Sounds From The Other Side.
