The two worlds of new classical music and indie rock rarely collide and yet why? Both push the boundaries of sound, form and instrumentation and in this unique collaboration you'll find there's more in common than meets the eye.

Opening the night with some of Melbourne's leading exponents in progressive rock, A Lonely Crowd, followed by the innovative Silo String Quartet, a rare meeting of styles will take place. The Arcko Symphonic Ensemble, known for its high energy & precision will join Glasfrosch to be the lush orchestral accompaniment to a unique set of their songs. Come and experience a night of beautiful, heartfelt and real music and witness two worlds become one!

Proudly supported by APRA and Arts Victoria.

Glasfrosch
"If You Go Far Enough into the Sky, You'll Come out Under Water sounds as if it was a completely immersing experience for those involved, and the end product is something quite profound... Do yourself a favour, track this down, give it the patience it deserves and let its unique brilliance wind its way into your psyche. You won't regret it." - Beat Magazine

Arcko Symphonic Project
"Without a body like the Arcko Symphonic Ensemble, a fair few local composers would go begging for audiences; fortunately for us all, the group's founder/conductor, Timothy Phillips, emphasises Australian music, and not just recently produced material. In an arena where contemporary voices are heard only occasionally, Arcko's presence is to be relished." - The Age

A Lonely Crowd
After three years of performing in and around Melbourne, A Lonely Crowd launched their highly anticipated debut albumUser Hostile in June 2011 at a sold out show at The Evelyn Hotel in Melbourne, and are currently working on their second album. Excited to unleash the fruits of their hard work on people everywhere, the groundswell of support for this local band is getting stronger all the time. For the 'Two Worlds' event, A Lonely Crowd will perform a very special acoustic show.

Silo String Quartet
Silo has performed regularly at the Melbourne International Jazz Festivals and Melbourne International Women in Jazz Festivals since 1999 working with such artists as Fiona Burnett, Belinda Moody, Antonio Tenace, David Chisholm and Quinsin Nachoff (Canada) and was the resident string quartet for the Federation Music Week International Composers Forum. In 2006 Silo recorded a CD for Melbourne based dance company BalletLab entitled "Origami", composed by David Chisholm. Silo also feature on the live ABC CD Soaring at Dawn for Jazz trio and String Quartet composed by soprano saxophonist Fiona Burnett.
