The 2013 Women and Leadership Breakfast includes a presentation from award-winning journalist, author and public speaker Catherine Fox. Catherine will share some of her experiences over her celebrated career and speak about her new book 7 Myths About Women and Work, which systematically demolishes some common workplace myths.

Catherine Fox:
Catherine has had a long and successful career with the AFR where she edited publications and wrote the Corporate Women column. She has written books, is on advisory boards, including the Defence Force Gender Equality Advisory Board and prior to 1989, she worked in financial marketing and consulting in Sydney and London. She has worked for a range of large and small organisations, including two of Australia’s largest banks, a university and an advertising agency. Catherine has a particular interest in women and the workforce, workforce trends, management and women's careers including two of Australia’s largest banks, a university and an advertising agency.

She has written several books including:

- Better than Sex: How a whole generation got hooked on work, co-authored with former AFR BOSS editor Helen Trinca;
- The F-word: How we learned to swear by feminism, co-authored with social commentator Jane Caro.
- 7 Myths About Women and Work

Catherine often speaks on the topic at seminars and conferences. She writes a weekly column for the AFR newspaper on Tuesdays called Corporate Woman, and has a BA Communications (University of Technology, Sydney) and an MA Hons (University of New South Wales). She lives in Sydney with her husband and three daughters.
