The Records and Information Management function is pivotal to organisational success, yet most organisations fail to tap into the full potential of this business unit to be a key driver of operational effectiveness. As the systematic and detailed outline of any organisation’s strategic plan, this function is often under constant strain, and as technology advances, new systems and frameworks for information management are developing. These advances present both challenges to overcome and opportunities to harness. The 5th Annual Records and Information Officer’s Forum 2014 will address the current issues impacting upon professionals and organisations in this context, dealing with a variety of practical challenges surrounding the changes to compliance, with the specific references to impacts of the Privacy Act and FOI reforms. It will also explore executive level influence and examine the organisational responsibilities concerning information ownership and governance. It also draws on a variety of EDRMS and other information management projects to provide a well-rounded toolkit for managers to take away ideas for improvement and effect positive change in their organisations. The expert sessions, case studies and masterclass will provide delegates with the tools to examine, streamline and achieve best practice within the information and records management space. Delegates will walk away will a clear and applicable plan to meet the Digitisation Target by 2015.
