Some people may recall the exquisite music of Ann Heymann’s gold-strung harp from her previous ‘Music of the Golden Tree’ concerts in Queensland. In 2014, Ann and her husband Charlie return to Australia for the World Harp Congress, and they'll be touring the East Coast as Celtic Time Travellers. Ann and Charlie have researched the mythology, history and music of Insular Celtic harps, to recreate the sounds of the past, including Bardic and Christian chants, historic ayres and dances, and stately music from the Courts of Queens Mary and Elizabeth. They’ll be bringing with them an array of early instruments, including harps built in conformity with ancient Celtic traditions, strung with gold and horsehair.
This special event is co-hosted by the Harp Society of Queensland and the Early Music Society of Queensland.
