A super-fun jazz-pop circus is coming to Yarraville-town this July with a string of electric shows by Benny and the Dukes and many, many special guests. In what promises to be a residency of epic proportions, this 6-piece band will perform their original, infectious, highly danceable songs supported by no less than eight, hand-picked soul / jazz / pop support acts over four Sundays in July.
Sunday 27th of July

From 4pm: Biddlewood
Hailing from North Fitzroy, Biddlewood are the latest indie pop sensation to be sweeping the streets with their sweet pop stylings. The creation of three driven, music-minded teens, no musical stone is left unturned; from jazz and rock to ska and folk.

From 5pm: Bec Goring
Sassy jazz guitarist with a baby face, bec Goring’s sweet soul vocals are bolstered by a bag of blues-infused riffery, eloquent harmonies and a trio of ladies with equally as much grunt and talent. Bec swings between songs alluding to relationships, adversity, and all the important shit that keeps the world going round.

From 6pm: Benny & the Dukes
Formed in early 2012 Benny and The Dukes burst onto the South/East Queensland scene with their 6-piece jazz-pop stylings before relocating to Melbourne to study music by day and play live by night. With a horn section nurtured in the hallowed halls of iconic jazz venue, the Basement, the band’s explosive live performances have earned them prestigious support slots for renowned act The Bamboos and they’ve played a sold out show with Lady Gaga’s band. Following great radio airplay and 5 star reviews of their first EP, Benny and the Dukes are currently working with the Cat Empire’s sound engineer Lachlan Wood to produce what looks to be a very promising album of funky, jazzy, pop originals.

Benny and the Dukes will bring their unique and crafty pop originals to Yarraville for four Sundays in July, promising to delight lovers of jazz and soul alike. This is music for young and old, and with free door entry, there is no better place to spend a Sunday afternoon this winter.
