The overwhelming popularity of Brisbane’s ANZAC Eve Concert has prompted organisers to cater for a much bigger audience this year.

The free public concert will be staged at The Courier-Mail Piazza and, for the first time, streamed live to a big screen outdoors at South Bank Parklands.

The concert, presented by Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) and RSL (Queensland Branch), is a public tribute to the tens of thousands of Australians who have died in military service.

Conductor Tecwyn Evans will lead the orchestra through a stirring and inspiring program including A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins and Fauré’s Requiem.

Also on the bill are the Brisbane Police Pipes and Drums, Queensland Detachment of the Royal Australian Navy Band, Queensland Choir, and Brisbane Concert Choir St Andrew’s.

NOTE: The free concert is part of the 2014 RSL ANZAC Appeal. Any donations support the RSL’s vital welfare, health and social services for Australian Defence personnel, veterans and their families.

Bookings not required. As this is a free, General Admission event, audience members are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat at the Piazza. Chairs are not permitted in the adjacent Rainforest Green but picnic blankets are encouraged.
